Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse population of patients from neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
• Assess patient needs and develop nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed through the Omnicell medication system.
• Document patient care and services accurately using the Cerner documentation system.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Shift Details

This position requires night shifts, working 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00). Weekend coverage will be required every other Friday and Saturday night.

Patient Demographics

The Emergency Department caters to an average daily census of 130-150 patients, with the capability to accommodate up to 31 beds. Patient age groups include:

• Neonates
• Infants
• Pediatrics
• Adolescents
• Adults
• Geriatrics

The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 or 1:5.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency setting. First-time travelers with the required experience will be considered.
• Experience with Epic or Cerner electronic medical record systems is preferred.
• Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.

Orientation and Uniforms

Orientation for new hires will last between 36 to 48 hours. Scrubs will be provided for the duration of employment.
