Fire Protection Designer

Overview As part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include leading the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection systems, fire suppression systems, and fire alarm systems. The role also includes coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices, and assisting fire protection engineers in the design of building projects while following quality assurance and quality control plans. Responsibilities Lead the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection systems. Lead the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire suppression systems. Lead the planning, design, and commissioning of building fire alarm systems. Coordinate with project teams on design, delivery, and construction. Manage project budgets and schedule compliance. Produce construction drawings using BIM design software. Perform design calculations using software-based calculation tools. Manage multiple assignments concurrently and ensure timely delivery and product quality. Follow quality assurance and quality control plans. Stay current with continuing education and learning based on project and team needs. Requirements Knowledge base of fire protection engineering principles related to building fire protection designs. Proven experience with fire protection designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects. Strong communication and team collaboration skills. Experience with Autodesk Revit. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Preferred Skills NICET certification in Fire Protection. Experience with AIA MasterSpec. Knowledge of Federal agency design criteria. #J-18808-Ljbffr Garver
