PAGNY is adding an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details

• Provide inpatient and outpatient surgical and non‑surgical care for orthopedic trauma patients.
• Perform surgery on complex orthopedic trauma cases, including pelvic fractures, long bone fractures, intra‑articular fractures, and upper and lower extremity trauma.
• Participate in the orthopedic surgery emergency call schedule.
• Participate in multidisciplinary trauma activities, including trauma meetings, quality initiatives, data collection, and compliance efforts.
• Conduct critical review of orthopedic consultations from the Emergency Department and inpatient units.
• Serve as the orthopedic representative on multidisciplinary trauma committees, as needed.
• Lead and mentor orthopedic surgery residents, medical students, physician assistants, and other clinical learners.
• Participate in departmental administrative and quality improvement initiatives, as required.

Qualifications

• Board eligible or certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship.

Wages and Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $272,475* based on a 21‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $377,723**.

• Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $78,000.
• 401(k) contribution: Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. After one year of service, an additional 7% contribution of base earnings is added. (No employee match required.)
• Annual CME reimbursement.
