Seasonal Grain Operator


Location: Ottawa Lake, MI
Pay: $20.00/hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Position Summary


We are hiring 4 Seasonal Grain Operators to support operations in Ottawa Lake. This position assists with truck loading and unloading, grain/seed storage operations, and the safe movement of seed throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with truck loading and unloading operations.
• Assist the management team with daily storage and grain/seed handling activities.
• Operate skid steer loaders and/or pay loaders as needed.
• Monitor and maintain safe, efficient operations.
• Follow all company safety procedures and written work instructions.
• Perform required quality control procedures.
• Work cooperatively with management and coworkers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues when appropriate and report problems to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a skid steer loader and/or pay loader preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability and willingness to learn new responsibilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and work with limited supervision.
• Ability to follow company procedures and quality control requirements.
• Prompt and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
• Professional, positive, and respectful attitude.

Physical & Work Requirements


This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and sit for prolonged periods.
• Work in confined spaces and from heights.
• Bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and other seasonal conditions.
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted .
• Work variable start times, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Work overtime as needed during seed and harvest seasons.
• Successfully complete N95 respirator clearance requirements.
