Lead Veterinarian – San Francisco, CA Oak View Animal Hospital, PLLC d/b/a Mission Pet Health Full‑time, indefinite Salary: $200,000 – $300,000 per year Travel: 0–10% Description Provide comprehensive veterinary medical services for pets and companion animals; perform physical examinations, diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures; communicate diagnoses and findings; prepare treatment plans; educate clients on preventive healthcare; maintain client and patient records; attend continuing education; stay current on developments in veterinary medicine; provide medical, people, and business leadership; build and develop the hospital team; guide business strategy; manage client escalations. Responsibilities Perform physical examinations of companion animals. Perform soft tissue surgeries: ovariohysterectomy, castration, gastrotomy, splenectomy, cystotomy, enterotomy, mass removals. Perform prophylactic dentistry and surgical extractions. Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans to clients. Use veterinary computer software to enter and maintain client and patient records. Use imaging equipment, including X‑ray and ultrasound. Mentor and guide junior team members. Contribute to hospital management: scheduling patients and procedures, ensuring compliance with veterinary practice acts and SOPs, maintaining medical SOPs. Drive delivery of hospital financial goals. Resolve client escalations. Review medical cases to provide guidance and/or a second opinion. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and/or Veterinary Science degree. Valid California Veterinarian License. Minimum 5 years of experience in a veterinarian position. At least 2 years in a lead or senior‑level veterinarian role. Experience performing physical examinations, surgeries, dentistry, imaging, and record‑keeping.
