Job description Job Title: Host & Brand Ambassador (Front of House) Location: 158 7th Avenue, Suite B, Brooklyn, NY 11215 (Park Slope) Position Type: Part-Time (4 shifts per week) | Weekend availability required Compensation: Starting at $18.00/hour + tips (averaging an additional $1-3 per hour) The Role: More Than Your Average Host Forget the traditional restaurant host podium—at Electric Beets, our Host is the heartbeat of our storefront. You are our Brand Ambassador, Cashier, and Chief Hospitality Officer all rolled into one. Your #1 responsibility is customer engagement. As the first and last point of contact for every guest, you set the tone. You will share our passion for plant-based living, introduce guests to our packaging and macro breakdowns, recommend daily specials, and turn everyday interactions into memorable experiences. What You’ll Do (Primary Responsibilities) Customer Engagement & Brand Ambassadorship Welcome & Guide: Warmly greet every guest and enthusiastically communicate Electric Beets’ core values, food philosophy, and menu offerings. Educate & Inspire: Answer customer questions regarding ingredients, allergens, and macros (conveniently listed right on our packaging!). Drive Sales & Joy: Build authentic connections, offer daily soup samples, suggest product pairings, and make thoughtful recommendations. Dynamic Front-of-House Operations & Multitasking Master the Shift Pivot: Fluidly switch between register checkout, bag packing, drink prep, and customer engagement as store traffic shifts minute-by-minute. POS & Fulfillment: Ring up orders swiftly on Square POS, carefully pack retail items, prep delivery orders, and coordinate Too Good To Go fulfillment. Food & Beverage Service: Prepare drink orders, serve daily soups, and manage guest sampling setups on demand. Merchandising & Restocking: Maintain continuous awareness of retail inventory; receive, label, date, and rotate deliveries, keeping displays fully stocked and visually striking while monitoring supplies. Cleanliness, Communication & Team Synergy Proactive Store Upkeep: Effortlessly blend cleaning tasks (wiping tables, counters, glass doors, floors, and sidewalk) into your natural shift flow to keep the store spotless during busy rushes. BOH Communication: Keep real-time communication open with the back-of-house team regarding low stock, prep needs, and product quality. Culture & Leadership: Lead by example with focus and positive energy, coach teammates when learning new tasks, and step in proactively to assist wherever needed. Schedule & Qualifications Multitasking Pro: Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, switch tasks rapidly, and maintain a calm, organized workflow under pressure. Availability: Flexibility to work 4 shifts per week, including mandatory weekend availability. Shift Times: Opening Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM / Closing Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:15 PM Commute: Convenient commute to our Park Slope location (preferably under 45 minutes). Physical Demands: Ability to stand, move quickly, and stay active for 100% of your shift. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs while climbing stairs. Mindset: Curious, adaptable, highly communicative, and naturally energetic. Compensation this position is: hourly, $16.50 - 20/hr
