SUMMARY OF MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for reviewing and preparing invoices, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of billing data, resolving billing issues, and maintaining accurate records.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Billing Supervisor in preparing claims for submission to ensure compliance with payer requirements and minimize claim rejections. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of claims that need to be submitted. Monitor the billing cycle to ensure claims are submitted in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and complete billing records and reports Collaborate with the billing team to resolve complex billing issues and denials. Ensure billing practices are compliant with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulatory guidelines. Stay current with industry regulations and payer requirements and implement necessary changes in processes. All other tasks related to billing. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or higher. Must be computer-literate and able to learn and maneuver in various electronic medical record systems. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data analytics. Strong prioritization and organizational skills. Ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously. Ability to exercise excellent judgment and work independently. No active police warrants may not be on probation or parole. Must have no current case open with the Department of Corrections.
