Operating Room Charge Nurse (RN)The Operating Room Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the daily operations in the surgery department. The Operating Room Charge Nurse coordinates patient flow, staffing assignments and procedural readiness.Education & Experience:Graduation certificate from an accredited school of nursing (RN program), requiredCurrent MS state licensure, requiredBasic Life Support (BLS) certification, requiredAdvances Cardiovascular Life Support (ALS), preferredCompletion of Moderate Sedation Course, requiredMinimum of one to two (1-2) years of nursing experience, with prior experience in endoscopy, perioperative, critical care, or procedural areas, preferredProficient patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, IV insertions, and administering Moderate SedationKnowledge of surgical procedures, infection control practices and emergency response protocolsQualifications:Strong critical thinking skills, organization and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, technicians, anesthesia personnel and patients.Ability to provide safe care during high stress or emergent situationsComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to effectively utilize applicable electronic systems and programs.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretionWork Schedule:Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00
