Packaging Specialist - 2nd Shift

Now Hiring: Packaging Specialist – 2nd ShiftOpenwork is seeking an experienced Packaging Specialist for a growing metals manufacturing facility in Houston. This hands-on role is a great fit for someone with packaging, forklift, warehouse, or material-handling experience who is looking for steady work and long-term potential.Position at a Glance:Location: Houston, TX 77028Pay: $20.00 per hour | Weekly PayShift: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 1:30 AMSchedule: Monday–FridayHours: Approximately 40–60 hours per weekOvertime: Required as needed based on production demandsEmployment Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-HireYour Day-to-Day:Package rolled and flat products according to customer requirements.Read and follow packing lists, shop copies, and packaging instructions.Inspect materials for correct dimensions, quality, and defects.Prepare pallets, crates, shrink wrap, banding, labels, and export packaging.Operate a forklift to move, stage, and prepare materials for shipment.Separate, weigh, label, and move scrap materials.Maintain accurate packaging and material records.Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.Follow all quality, environmental, and workplace safety procedures.What You'll Need to Succeed:2+ years of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or material-handling experience required.Forklift operating experience required; skills will be evaluated during the interview process.Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.Ability to pass a basic math test and background check.Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.Reliable and consistent attendance.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.Ability to frequently lift 50–75 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, and remain physically active throughout the shift.Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment and hot temperatures.Flexibility to work required overtime.Overhead crane experience is a plus.Important Work Environment & Safety Requirements:This is a safety-sensitive metals manufacturing position in a non-climate-controlled environment.
