Description

American Traveler is seeking a Chemo-Certified Oncology RN (BSN required) for an outpatient infusion center position in an academic health system setting, with Epic charting experience required.

Details

• Outpatient oncology infusion center setting
• Oncology and hematology patient population covering all major cancer diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule: 8:00–17:00, Monday–Friday (5x8s)
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Floating is not required, though may be subject to change based on facility needs
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC)
• Preferred certifications: CPHON, CPON, OCN
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience required; 1–3 years preferred
• Experience with IV therapy and infusions, port access and management, central line care, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience administering chemotherapy including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral routes
• At least one prior travel assignment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, biotherapy, active immunotherapy, and management of cytotoxic spills
• Nurses are expected to recognize and manage chemotherapy side effects including nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, altered mental status, edema, and mucositis
• Medication administration includes antibiotics, antiemetics, antitumor agents, corticosteroids, hormonal therapy, and Neupogen
• Dark blue scrubs are provided by the facility
