What You'll Do
- Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates
- Collaborate with mental health team members (psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, etc.) to ensure coordinated patient care
- Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans tailored to inmate needs
- Perform regular rounds in segregation and confined areas to assess inmate mental health and adjustment
- Apply psychological counseling techniques and provide crisis intervention as necessary
- Consult with medical, mental health, security, and other staff to understand behavioral escalations and treatment needs
- Ensure documentation and compliance with all relevant standards and protocols
What You Need
- Required:
- Active licensure or board eligibility in psychology
- Valid BLS certification meeting CoreCivic requirements or pending attestation
- Ability to perform all job functions at an appropriate pace and level of performance
- Preferred:
- Prior experience working within correctional or institutional settings
About the Assignment This role involves providing essential mental health services in a correctional environment, ensuring inmate well-being and safety. The psychologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions in a secure setting.
