Job Summary

Electrophysiology Specialist in a cardiac specialized laboratory setting within an acute care hospital. This role involves performing complex cardiac procedures, including electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations, utilizing advanced mapping systems and equipment. The position requires a highly skilled professional capable of operating Cardo Micropace systems and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver top-tier cardiac care.

Job Details

• Location: Within an acute care hospital with a Level I trauma designation.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts during days, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrophysiology, with proficiency in EP diagnostic procedures, ablations, all cardiac devices, and capable of operating Cardo Micropace units. Certifications required include BLS; ACLS and ARRT R are preferred. Must have an Illinois license active and in hand at the time of submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac mapping, lead extractions, LAA closures, PFO/ASD closure, and operating advanced electrophysiology recording systems. Experience in a Level I trauma center setting is preferred.
• Responsibilities: Performing and assisting with complex electrophysiology procedures including arrhythmia induction, ablation (PFA, RF), device implantations (pacemakers, defibrillators), and related cardiac diagnostics. Ensure sterile technique, operate imaging and mapping equipment, interpret dysrhythmias, and provide post-procedure care within scope. Able to stay past scheduled shift times as needed to complete procedures.
• Schedule and Duration: The position begins on 10/19/2026 and ends on 01/18/2027. Scheduled days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with a variable day off between Wednesday and Friday. Floating within scope to other cardiac procedures is required.
• Additional Requirements: Must be willing to operate Cardo Micropace units and willing to teach others to operate if needed. Cases may extend past 5:00 PM on some days. Overnight on-call is not required.
• Other Notes: Candidate must review and confirm understanding of role requirements, compliance, and submission details including certifications, licensure, and background check disclosures.
