Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examination of patients Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical: Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal: Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor: Must be able to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment Mental: Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally and sometimes without assistance; manage irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration on detail Sensory: Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate Benefits Include Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1,560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
