Snowflake Platform Product Owner

Salary: $68,000 - 108,000 per year Requirements:

• Were looking for experience owning data, analytics, or data-platform products end to end, including a published roadmap, prioritized backlog, and accountability for consumption economics.
• We require hands-on Snowflake experience and fluency with its data marketplace, certified data distribution, Cortex AI and ML capabilities, feature store, model registry, governed agent-to-data access, and exploratory workspaces.
• Candidates should have strong FinOps skills for usage-priced platforms, including anomaly handling, threshold management, tracking run rates against plan, and justifying spend through measured business value.
• Were seeking experience influencing teams the owner does not directly manage and earning adoption of platform standards through value rather than authority.
• Candidates should have experience recommending where AI and ML workloads should run, comparing platforms using measured value.
• We value platform advocacy experience that improved organizational fluency and led to clear, high-value outcomes.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States for any employer, without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future.
• Preferred: Experience building or operating an enterprise data marketplace, beyond data warehouses.
• Preferred: Experience comparing data, ML, and AI platforms, including Databricks and relevant Microsoft and Amazon cloud services, to make build-and-run recommendations based on measured value.
• Preferred: Background in certified data product standards, MDM, or data governance at platform scale.
• Preferred: Experience establishing feature stores and model registries adopted by engineering teams.
• Preferred: Experience as a business product owner paired with a technical counterpart.
• Preferred: Experience with LLM platforms such as Anthropic Claude or Microsoft Copilot Studio, reading from Snowflake-resident data.

• We expect you to own Snowflake as a product with a unified business perspective, maintaining its roadmap and prioritized backlog and overseeing consumption economics across both the data marketplace and AI agent runtime.
• Youll manage platform economics by attributing costs to capabilities and user teams, setting up anomaly alerts, tracking run rates against plans, and making the case for spending based on measured business value.
• Youll set standards for distributing certified data products, enabling approved agents to access Snowflake data through governed interfaces, and supporting exploratory work without shadow environments; youll earn teams adoption through value.
• Youll own the platforms AI and ML features, prioritizing capabilities such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents, the feature store, and model registry, while planning for a smooth handoff when a team is ready to own the AI technology directly.
• Youll evaluate and recommend cost-effective options for analytics, AI, and ML workloads, document the economics, and help the organization use Snowflake effectively.
• Youll manage Snowflakes vendor relationship from the business side, including consumption economics, pricing, and influence on the feature roadmap, in coordination with the technical product owner.
• Youll coordinate platform decisions across data product and AI engineering teams, keeping the platforms roadmap, economics, and standards aligned.
