The non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f).

Job Summary

The Truck driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of establishments such as: manufacturing plants, freight depots, warehouses, wholesale and retail establishments, or between retail establishments and customers' houses or places of business. This driver may also load or unload truck with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and keep truck in good working order. Sales route and over-the-road drivers are excluded. An over-the-road driver regularly drives a truck over such a distance that the worker does not return to the departure point in the same workday, or is a worker who is paid on a mileage or mileage plus load factor basis, and may be compensated for or provided meals or lodging or both. For wage study purposes, Truck Drivers are classified by type and the rated capacity of truck. Rated capacity is the gross vehicle weight minus the empty weight of the vehicle (SCA Base 31360) A trailer has a set or several sets of wheels at the rear only, with the forward portion being supported by the truck tractor or towing vehicle. (SCA 31364)

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for driving heavy mobile equipment to support receipts and issues
• Operate a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
• Transports loads safely and timely over required routes
• Must obey all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas
• Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty pallets and returns all equipment to designated area.
• Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
• Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to ?.
• Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
• Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, and workload requirements, etc.
• Adhere to PTi quality, safety, and environmental standards

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Subject to mandatory drug testing as required
• May be required to handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
• Ability to work inside and/or outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp, and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/supplies
• Able to perform work on hard or uneven surfaces

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

• How many years of experience does this person need
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
• Skilled in planning, controlling, executing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements
• Ability to effectively read and write in English, comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively

Certificate, License, Registration, etc.:

• Must hold required commercial drivers license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
• Certification
• Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if required
• Completion of contractual and company mandated trainings applicable to position

Education

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
