Job Description

We are seeking a Machinist Apprentice who will play a critical role in supporting the precision repair and manufacturing of pump components by developing technical expertise, maintaining strict quality standards, and contributing to operational excellence. This role is dedicated to learning and applying advanced machining practices, ensuring the reliable restoration and production of high-performance pump parts, and upholding a safe, efficient, and organized work environment. Through collaboration and adherence to core values, the apprentice helps drive quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction in every repair and manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Use engine lathes, manual mills, and grinders for setup, alignment, and operation.
• Conduct inspections to compare measured results against drawings.
• Attend courses to develop knowledge and obtain certifications.
• Train in other repair activities to support the team.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with manual mills.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• 1-2 years of experience as a machinist helper.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with blueprint reading.
• Experience with manual grinders.

Work Environment

This is a full-time assignment as a Machinist Apprentice in a climate-controlled shop. The manufacturing floor environment requires standing, bending, crane usage, and running machinery in a team setting. This position operates on a day shift from 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

The pay range for this position is $30.85 - $38.56/hr.
