About the Position

Job Title: OR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty with 2-3 previous travel assignments License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred) Must-Have: Ortho experience required Experience passing instruments in and out for Robotics Experience with all specialties for evening/night shift Scrubbing experience (preferred) Description: The position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse. The average number of cases per day ranges from 35 to 45. Common cases include General, ENT, Eyes, Ortho, Robotics, and Vascular. Experience with trauma, pediatric dental, and ENT cases is beneficial. All surgical cases are covered except for CVOR and labor & delivery. The RN may need to circulate cases as needed. There is a requirement to be comfortable with charge duties during night shifts. Call requirements include one weeknight on-call and one weekend 24-hour on-call per month. The response time for call is 30 minutes. Floating to outpatient surgery may be required. Scrubs are provided for staff. Candidates should possess a willingness to learn and support service lines if needed. The expectations for weekly shifts include varied start times, primarily day/evening. Self-scheduling is not allowed for travelers, but block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs. Housekeeping responsibilities belong to the techs, as no aids are available. The environment is mostly staffed by travelers. Additional notes may indicate a preference for candidates with minimal experience in one service line, with options for support and refresher training.
