Endoscopy Technician / Patient Transporter Must-Have Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs
• Experience in healthcare, hospital, or surgical setting preferred
• Strong patient care and safety awareness
• Ability to follow infection control and OSHA standards
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods

Endoscopy Technician / Patient Transporter Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician/Transporter to support operations in an Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role assists with endoscopic procedures, patient transport, equipment handling, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, professional, and able to support clinical staff in a high-volume surgical setting.

Endoscopy Technician / Patient Transporter Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
• Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and supplies
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize scopes and instruments using aseptic technique
• Safely transport patients to and from procedure rooms
• Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs and stretchers
• Ensure patient comfort and prevent falls during transport
• Monitor and maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness
• Stock, clean, and organize supplies throughout the ASC
• Label and handle patient specimens accurately
• Follow OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols
• Communicate transport needs via facility communication systems
• Support clinical staff as directed by nursing leadership

Endoscopy Technician / Patient Transporter Additional Qualifications

• Experience in endoscopy or surgical center preferred
• Familiarity with sterilization and infection control procedures
• Preferred ability to perform minor equipment maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
• Ability to remain calm in high-stress clinical environments
• Professional and team-oriented attitude

* Maintain a sterile field to provide support for physicians and nurses during endoscopy procedures. Prepare and maintain instruments and equipment. May obtain specimens.

* Clean, disinfect, or calibrate scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.

* Prepare suites or rooms according to endoscopic procedure requirements.

* Assist physicians or registered nurses in the conduct of endoscopic procedures.

* Collect specimens from patients, using standard medical procedures.

* Maintain or repair endoscopic equipment.

* Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.

* Attend in-service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills.

* Place devices, such as blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeter sensors, nasal cannulas, surgical cautery pads, and cardiac monitoring electrodes, on patients to monitor vital signs.

* Position or transport patients in accordance with instructions from medical personnel.

* Maintain inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.

* Conduct in-service training sessions to disseminate information regarding equipment or instruments.
