What You'll Do

As a Family Services Assistant , you'll help connect children and families to the resources, services, and support they need to thrive. You'll play a key role in recruiting and enrolling families, supporting child health requirements, building community partnerships, and helping ensure families have a positive experience with Early Head Start.

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for families and help connect them with community resources and support services.
  • Recruit and enroll children and pregnant women into Early Head Start and maintain county waitlists.
  • Build relationships with healthcare providers and community agencies to support children and families.
  • Track child health requirements, collect documentation, and assist families with follow-up care when needed.
  • Complete vision and hearing screenings and maintain accurate program records and data.
  • Support parent engagement activities, family events, and recruitment efforts throughout the community.
  • Collaborate closely with Home Visitors, health staff, and program teams to ensure families receive high-quality services.
  • Participate in training, professional development, and continuous improvement efforts.
Most importantly, you'll help families access the resources, support, and opportunities they need to build strong foundations for their children's success.

Requirements

What We'll Love About You:
  • High School Diploma / GED and one year experience in similar position with proven organizational capabilities, good communications skills (verbal and written) and general knowledge of computer word processing, data base and participant tracking programs required. Associate Degree, or coursework in Business Services or related field, is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver license are required.
