RN – Elizabeth House Reports To Director of Inpatient Unit Status Non-Exempt Shift After hours/Nights Location Flat Rock - Elizabeth House Inpatient unit Summary Planning and implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care, provide direct nursing care, and instruct/supervise the LPN and Hospice Aide staff in the delivery of nursing care to clients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Practices within the scope of license, certification or registration, where applicable, and as required by law and regulation Assessing the patient's physical and mental health including the patient's reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens Recording and reporting the results of the nursing assessment Planning, initiating, delivering, and evaluating appropriate nursing acts Teaching, assigning, delegating to or supervising other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen Collaborating with other health care providers in determining the appropriate patient and family-centered plan of care and ensures the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care is coordinated Implementing the treatment and pharmaceutical regimen prescribed by any person authorized by State law to prescribe the regimen Providing teaching and counseling about the patient's health Reporting and recording the plan for care, nursing care given, and the patient's response to that care Supervising, teaching, and evaluating those who perform or are preparing to perform nursing functions and administering nursing programs and nursing services Providing for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care, whether rendered directly or indirectly. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Must be willing and able to care for patients with infectious disease processes unless approved accommodations Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and Medicare Conditions of Participation Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations Knowledge of electronic medical records systems Demonstrate basic data entry skills Demonstrate excellent organization skills Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques and ingenuity Ability to interact with various departments throughout the organization Ability to work flexible hours, if needed Ability to participate as a team player to coordinate projects Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects Demonstrate skill/expertise in pain and symptom management Demonstrate ability to effectively collaborate and facilitate the work of a group Demonstrate understanding of reimbursement, regulatory requirements, and Medicare Conditions of Participation Minimum Qualifications Education RN Experience Two years of clinical experience Licensures & Certifications Valid NC RN license Summary Of Physical Requirements Walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, twisting, crouching/squatting, kneeling Flexion/Extension of arms/wrist Hand dexterity to include gripping, pushing/pulling and writing Lifting/carrying of 50 lbs.
