RN Labor and Delivery

Job Summary: The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care in labor and delivery, operating room (OR), post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), and postpartum settings. This role involves couplet care for mothers and babies, supporting deliveries typically of babies 32 weeks gestation and older. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver evidence-based, compassionate, and patient-centered care, ensuring a positive birth experience. The position requires clinical expertise, teamwork, and prior RN charge experience. Responsibilities: Provide skilled nursing care in labor and delivery, postpartum, OR, and PACU environments. Manage couplet care for mother and newborn, including assessment and monitoring. Support and participate in approximately 60 to 80+ deliveries per month. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver evidence-based care. Serve as RN charge nurse when assigned, overseeing unit operations and staff coordination. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation according to hospital policies. Participate in call rotation and respond to emergent situations as required. Required Skills & Certifications: Current Colorado RN license or compact license to practice in Colorado. At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably including labor and delivery. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. STABLE program certification. Flu vaccine compliance by October 2026. Demonstrated RN charge nurse experience. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Experience working in a regional hospital setting with a high volume of deliveries. Familiarity with evidence-based labor and delivery nursing practices. Strong teamwork and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams. Special Considerations: Work involves 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends. Call rotation typically requires one 12-hour shift every six weeks, subject to change. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume labor and delivery environment. Limited Return to Office (RTO) requirements for travelers. Scheduling: 12-hour night shifts.
