Senior IT Architect

Salary: $104,304 - 136,872 per year Requirements:

• We bring eleven years of progressively responsible experience across enterprise data architecture, data management, application or software development, database administration, information or operational technology consulting and strategy, data standards development, data governance, master data management, data analytics or business intelligence, and data science.
• We also bring five years of progressively responsible experience applying data science principles through the design, development, implementation, or operationalization of data-driven solutions using statistical analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or similar advanced analytical methods.
• We have demonstrated professional experience designing enterprise data architectures and data models; developing or administering databases and data platforms; engineering data pipelines or analytical environments; and establishing enterprise data standards, governance, or master data practices.

• Up to five years of relevant education in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related technical discipline may substitute year-for-year for experience.
• Relevant education may include an associate degree, bachelors degree, or masters degree.
• Experience may be gained concurrently.
• We may set candidates apart if they have experience designing and leading highly complex enterprise data architectures involving data quality, analytics or business intelligence, data privacy, security, and system integration.
• We may set candidates apart if they hold certification in an enterprise architecture or data management framework such as TOGAF or DAMA.
• We may set candidates apart if they have experience developing, recommending, and maintaining enterprise technology policies, standards, architecture practices, and strategic roadmaps.

• This hybrid role requires working in person at our Olympia-area offices once a month, with additional on-site time as business needs require.

• We provide enterprise-wide leadership for our data strategy, architecture, standards, and practices.
• We design and guide data solutions that support critical agency systems, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business decision-making.
• We work across business and technology teams to establish consistent methods for structuring, integrating, governing, protecting, and using data throughout its lifecycle.
• We advise agency leaders, architects, developers, analysts, data scientists, and governance groups on complex data decisions.
• We develop and maintain our enterprise data architecture framework, reference architectures, data models, technical standards, and strategic roadmaps.
• We design scalable enterprise data solutions, integration patterns, data pipelines, analytical environments, and repositories.
• We establish and guide enterprise practices for data governance, data quality, metadata, master data management, security, privacy, interoperability, and lifecycle management.
• We translate complex business, operational, and analytical needs into technical data designs, implementation strategies, and reusable enterprise solutions.
• We apply advanced data science, statistical, predictive, and machine learning methods to support enterprise data solutions and evidence-based decision-making.
• We teach, mentor, and consult with technical and business teams to strengthen data architecture, data engineering, data science, and data literacy practices across our agency.
