Medical LAB Assistant

We are currently seeking a passionate individual who is eager to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare environment.Performs skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing. Responsible for prompt, accurate processing of test requisitions, accurate charging, registering and ordering tests for outpatients, informing techs of stats and other timed or urgent testing. Telephone patients, physicians and nursing units when required. Maintains neat and organized collection trays, collection areas and work areas. Persons in this position are expected to demonstrate logical, professional behaviors under demanding and stressful conditions. National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.EducationRequired: High School graduate or equivalentExperienceRequired: Computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital information system.Preferred: Health related or science background with lab specific experienceLicensure/Certification/RegistrationNoneMotor Vehicle Operator DesignationEmployees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose UF Health
