Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will provide expert care for critically ill pediatric patients and support a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including monitoring, assessments, and treatments.
• Perform advanced procedures such as lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize EMR systems to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
• Adhere to unit policies, dress code, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and assist with emergency situations as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience, with preferred experience in PICU.
• Pediatric and Pediatric ICU experience strongly preferred.
• Must have Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to fast-changing clinical scenarios.
