Job Summary  

The P roduction Scheduler is responsible for translating the site’s production plan into actionable short-term schedules and distributing work orders across manufacturing areas. This role ensures production lines are properly loaded, constraints are identified and mitigated, materials and labor are aligned to immediate needs, and orders flow through the shop according to target delivery dates. The Production Scheduler serves as the key link between Production, Planning, Customer Service, and Buyer/Planners to maintain smooth and predictable execution on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Generate detailed short-term production line schedules derived from the site production plan
2. Assign daily and weekly work to value streams based on labor, equipment availability, and priority requirements
3. Evaluate and mitigate short-term labor and equipment constraints, escalating issues when necessary
4. with Production Supervisors to balance workloads and optimize resource utilization
5. Monitor On-Time to Promise (OTP) and drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) for delays or deviations
6. Manage order changes, rescheduling, and recovery plans to protect OTP and On-Time to Request (OTR) performance
7. Work with Buyer/Planners to resolve material-related constraints and ensure supply for immediate production needs
8. Support Customer Service by responding to customer order inquiries regarding promise dates and schedule status
9. Partner with Master Scheduler, Planning, and Production teams to maintain alignment with the production plan
10. Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance value stream performance
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles
12. Perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications

1. As sociate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred
2. Experience working with and maintaining ERP data (SAP preferred)
3. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and shop floor execution
4. Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement practices
5. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Power BI
6. Ability to analyze constraints, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across functional areas
8. Ability to comply with required PPE, including safety glasses, Hi-Viz vest, and safet y-toe shoes

1. P rior experience in production scheduling or supply chain operations
2. Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment s

Certifications

1. None required; relevant supply chain or Lean certifications are a plus
