Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 7-8, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You'll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern in the Greater Pennsylvania area to join AECOM Transportation, Structures Department (Bridges and Walls) in Philadelphia, PA.

This position is expected to begin in June 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Must have completed 3 years of study at the time of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software.
• Some basic coursework in steel and concrete design.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage time, deadlines, keep track of steps, and prioritize tasks.

Additional Information

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Philadelphia, PA . The selected candidate must be available to work in Philadelphia on a scheduled basis.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $27 to $31.
