Job Title: RN - OR/Surgery Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Required Certifications: Certification Required for Surgical Technicians Must-Have: Candidates with neuro/spine experience for Cardiac Service line must have cardiac experience. Candidates must possess certification for Surgical Technicians. Description: Contract position for an RN in the Operating Room with a duration of 13 weeks. The shift is from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM with no on-call requirements. Weekends require charge nurse duties. The unit consists of 22 operating rooms and is staffed with around 80 personnel. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:1. The team is composed of day shift staff, including 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1-3 sitters. A team is in-house at all times, with night shifts also covered by a team available 24/7. Typical procedures performed include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, spine fusions, total joints, craniotomies, mastectomies, and DIEP flaps. Candidates should exhibit flexibility, teamwork, and a self-directed, positive attitude. Scrubs are provided, but closed-toe, non-slip shoes are required. Recognition and team awards are regularly celebrated. The unit has low turnover with successful transitions from contract to permanent staff.
