General Production Worker– 2nd Shift
Job Description
The General Laborer on 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.) supports daily operations in a frozen food manufacturing and warehouse facility. This role performs a wide range of physical, hands-on tasks including material handling, sanitation, packaging support, and palletizing, while consistently maintaining safety, quality, and food safety standards in refrigerated and freezer environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of general labor duties throughout the facility as assigned to support production and warehouse operations.
- Move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products between work areas to ensure continuous workflow.
- Stack, sort, organize, and palletize products and materials according to established procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, materials, and deliveries in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe production, warehouse, and storage areas throughout the shift.
- Remove trash, scrap materials, and other waste from work areas and dispose of them properly.
- Assist with sanitation and cleaning of equipment, workstations, and facility areas to support food safety and quality standards.
- Support production teams by supplying materials, staging product, and removing completed pallets from work areas.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as trained and authorized.
- Follow all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), OSHA regulations, and food safety procedures at all times.
- Work safely in refrigerated and freezer environments, using appropriate protective gear and following temperature-related safety guidelines.
- Report damaged products, safety concerns, and equipment issues promptly to supervisors or designated personnel.
- Assist with inventory movement, product storage, and general facility support duties as operational needs require.
- Collaborate with team members and support other departments as needed to meet daily and weekly operational goals.
- Adapt to changing priorities and perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth facility operations.
Essential Skills
- Ability to work comfortably and safely in cold, refrigerated, and freezer environments.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred but not required.
- Experience working in refrigerated, freezer, or other temperature-controlled environments is a plus.
- Strong commitment to productivity and meeting operational goals.
- Willingness to assist in multiple areas of the facility as operational needs change.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with routine and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to maintain accurate work practices and follow established procedures.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Flexibility to support sanitation, material handling, and general facility duties as needed.

Work Environment
This role is based in a frozen food manufacturing and warehouse facility with frequent exposure to cold, refrigerated, and freezer temperatures. The position is physically demanding, requiring continuous movement, regular lifting, carrying, stacking, and material handling throughout the 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.). Team members work in a fast-paced environment that supports food production and distribution operations and must use company-provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear as needed. The workplace emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with scheduled 15-minute breaks every two hours to support health, productivity, and overall well-being.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
