Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) at a dynamic educational environment serving Pre-K through 12th grade students. This assignment runs from August 18, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with one opening available. You'll have the chance to support and empower a caseload of approximately 20-25 students, providing specially designed instruction aligned with each student's IEP. With the flexibility to work between 35-40 hours per week and schedules ranging from 7:30 am–4:00 pm based on school needs, this role suits passionate educators dedicated to making a meaningful impact in students' lives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current Maryland teacher certification or licensure with an endorsement as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience delivering specialized instruction to a visually impaired student population (Pre-K through 12 preferred)
• Proficiency in creating and implementing IEPs, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and materials for accessibility and accommodation
• Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
• Commitment to in-person instruction

Responsibilities

• Deliver evaluative and instructional services to students with visual impairments across various school sites (assignments to be determined)
• Develop and execute individualized and group lesson plans in accordance with IEP goals
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Coordinate with families, support staff, and related service providers to foster student success
• Utilize a district-provided laptop for lesson planning, student records, and communication
