Senior Welder (Bilingual English/Spanish) - GMAW / FCAW-G Location: Adkins, TX 78101 Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 7:00 AM - 5:45 PM Pay: $24.00 per hour Reports to: Production Supervisor / Area Lead About Us Top Metal Solutions is seeking highly skilled and experienced welders to join our growing fabrication team as a Senior Welder. As a Senior Welder, you will play a key role in complex fabrication projects, structural assemblies, and custom manufacturing operations. This position requires advanced welding ability, strong fabrication knowledge, leadership by example, and the ability to maintain quality and productivity in a fast-paced environment. Position Summary The Senior Welder is responsible for performing advanced welding and fabrication work on structural and custom metal assemblies while maintaining high quality and production standards. This role requires strong experience in GMAW and FCAW-G welding, blueprint interpretation, fabrication support, troubleshooting, and independent project execution. The ideal candidate is capable of handling complex welding tasks, performing multi-pass welding, welding critical joints, assisting with production problem-solving, and supporting junior team members when needed. Responsibilities Perform advanced GMAW welding on structural and custom fabricated components Perform FCAW-G welding for heavy-duty and structural applications Perform multi-pass welding on structural assemblies and critical joints Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production specifications Set up and adjust welding equipment and parameters properly Perform fitting, alignment, and fabrication support as required Maintain high-quality weld appearance and structural integrity Identify and correct welding or fabrication issues Assist with troubleshooting production and fabrication problems Support production efficiency and workflow improvements Assist in training and mentoring junior welders when needed Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met Maintain safe work practices and follow all company safety procedures Support team productivity and project completion goals Welding & Fabrication Skills Advanced GMAW welding experience required in 1F-4F positions Strong FCAW-G welding experience required in 1G-4G positions Experience performing critical joint welding and multi-pass welding required Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions Strong understanding of weld penetration, distortion control, and weld quality Ability to fabricate and assemble components from prints and drawings Ability to maintain high production consistency with minimal supervision Strong understanding of fabrication processes and shop workflow Ability to identify and resolve fit-up and dimensional issues Experience with structural and custom fabrication work preferred Tools & Equipment Used GMAW welding machines FCAW-G welding equipment Fabrication and fitting tools Grinders and finishing equipment Measuring and layout tools Clamps, fixtures, and fabrication equipment Saws and shop equipment Material handling equipment Qualifications 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience preferred Previous experience in manufacturing, structural welding, or custom fabrication environments required Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong blueprint reading and fabrication interpretation skills Proven ability to maintain quality and productivity standards Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Excellent attendance and reliability Strong work ethic and leadership mentality Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience with structural steel or heavy fabrication projects FCAW-G structural welding experience Experience mentoring or training junior welders Forklift experience is a plus Welding certifications are a plus, but not required Compensation Starting pay: $24/hour Full-time position 40 hours per week Stable long-term employment Opportunity for growth within the company Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and work in a physically demanding environment Ability to work safely around machinery and welding equipment Work Environment This position works inside a metal fabrication and manufacturing facility.
