The Midwife plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive obstetric care to patients at our Women's Health Center. This position involves providing shift coverage at the Birthing Center within the medical facility, overseeing laboring patients, including those arriving through the Emergency Department. Additionally, the Midwife will offer Gynecological Care, addressing both acute and chronic health issues, making necessary referrals, educating patients, and ensuring that all individuals receive compassionate and respectful treatment.

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited midwifery program recognized by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

Experience: Prior experience as a certified midwife is preferred, although new graduates are welcome to apply.

Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current license to practice in Maryland or be eligible to obtain one. Compliance with BLS (CPR) policies is required. An application for medical staff membership and clinical privileges at our organization must be submitted. The Midwife must maintain good standing with the Medical Staff at the medical center at all times.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Familiarity with current OB/GYN practice standards and protocols is essential. The ability to independently provide all OB/GYN care within the scope of the license is required. Strong communication skills with patients, colleagues, and subordinates are necessary.
