Senior Project Manager - Commercial Interiors

Position: Senior Project Manager

Base Salary: Up to $210K + Benefits

I am currently conducting a confidential search on behalf of an established General Contractor in New York City, seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing team.

The business delivers a diverse portfolio of commercial interior projects, typically ranging from $2M – $20M, including:

• Corporate Office Fit-Outs
• Commercial Interiors
• Restaurant & Hospitality Projects
• Retail & High-End Retail Spaces
• Office Renovations & Reconfigurations

Key Responsibilities:

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple commercial interior projects, from preconstruction through to final handover.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling and execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Oversee project financials, including cost control, forecasting, cash flow, change orders, subcontractor payments and overall profitability.
• Manage and maintain relationships with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors and other key project stakeholders.
• Lead project teams, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Site Superintendents, providing direction and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor negotiations, contract administration and buyout processes.
• Identify and manage project risks, resolve construction challenges and implement solutions to minimise delays and additional costs.
• Monitor construction progress, quality control and site safety, working closely with field teams to maintain project standards.
• Manage client expectations, lead progress meetings and provide regular updates on project performance.
• Drive projects through closeout, commissioning, punch lists and final client handover.

Ideal Background:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within the NYC commercial interiors market.
• A strong track record delivering projects in the $2M–$20M range.
• Experience across corporate interiors, office fit-outs, hospitality or retail construction.
• Strong commercial awareness, financial management and contract administration experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent client-facing, communication and problem-solving capabilities.
