License: NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submission.

Certifications: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS

Description: RNs will provide specialized care for patients with cardiac conditions. Responsibilities will include management of dysrhythmias, post-MI care, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care. RNs will administer cardiac drips, chest tubes, and provide non-invasive airway management as needed. Candidates should be proficient in EKG interpretation and have experience in arterial line management and wound care. Patient diagnoses may include but are not limited to atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and other cardiac conditions. Successful candidates will work a variable patient ratio, with ratios being 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity. Flexibility in floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. Weekend shifts may be required, with expectations set at 4 weekends per 4-week period. Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations. Special procedures may include various cardiac and thoracic surgeries, as well as post-cardiac catheterization care. Familiarity with documentation systems such as Epic is a plus. Candidates will be expected to complete pre-start modules as part of onboarding. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cardiac telemetry nursing and demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care.
