Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes. Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes. Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Minimum Qualifications Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy. Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ). Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ) certification. Current Texas Association of Respiratory Care ( TSRC ) and American Association of Respiratory Care ( AARC ) memberships. Current, related professional membership(s) may be substituted in place of TSRC and AARC memberships. Three (3) years clinical work experience. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multicultural backgrounds. Knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success. Knowledge of a learning college and/or knowledge of learning communities. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching at the secondary or college level. Experience teaching college level online courses and/or documented successful training in a college online learning management system (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas). Job Duties Job Duty Assign and supervise students in the lab setting or provide instruction in a classroom and lab setting. Job Duty Advise students throughout clinical hours as needed.
