Pricing Coordinator

Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Pricing Coordinator to join its Finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining and administering attorney rates, client and matter pricing, and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) within the firm's financial systems. Working closely with Finance, Billing, Business Development, New Business Intake, IT, and other cross-functional teams, the Pricing Coordinator helps ensure pricing accuracy, supports client proposals, and contributes to strategic pricing initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and client service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update attorney, client, and matter-level pricing, including standard rates and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), within the firm's financial systems.
• Review pricing requests to ensure compliance with engagement terms, billing guidelines, and firm policies while obtaining appropriate approvals.
• Communicate pricing updates and changes to Billing and other internal stakeholders.
• Support pricing analyses and reporting for client proposals, pitches, and other business development initiatives.
• Review newly created clients and matters to ensure pricing consistency and coordinate rate setup with Billing teams.
• Assist with the firm's annual attorney rate-setting process, including implementing approved rate changes.
• Participate in annual client rate reviews by identifying matters requiring rate adjustments and coordinating implementation with attorneys and Billing personnel.
• Maintain foreign currency rate information for timekeepers as needed.
• Develop, document, and improve pricing-related processes and procedures.
• Prepare data and reporting for industry surveys and internal management reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Development, IT, and other departments on pricing-related projects and initiatives.
• Perform additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-2 years of experience in finance, pricing, billing, accounting, or a related analytical role; experience within a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing financial data, pricing structures, and large datasets.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyze complex data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with financial systems, databases, and reporting tools; familiarity with Elite 3E or Elite Enterprise is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced professional services environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong client service focus and willingness to support business needs, including occasional extended hours when necessary.
