Job Description Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of equipment and facilities. This entry-level role involves assisting more experienced technicians, learning maintenance procedures, and gradually gaining the skills necessary to troubleshoot and repair equipment. The position plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations by maintaining machinery, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe work environment. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to maximize reliability and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, chains, gears, belts, shafts, and drive systems. Diagnose and resolve electro-pneumatic, electrical, and machine control issues using effective troubleshooting techniques. Use electrical testing equipment to verify continuity, voltage, resistance, and AC/DC circuit performance. Inspect and maintain sensors and automation components to ensure efficient and reliable machine operation. Support equipment installations, root cause analysis, maintenance documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives while following safety standards and collaborating with operations teams. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of maintenance or related industry experience. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment systems. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical and electrical issues. Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery operation. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools and basic maintenance equipment.
