$30-$40 Per Hour (Depending on experience)

Position Summary

Bridge Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to provide community-based recreational therapy services for individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries (SCI), and other disabling conditions.

The CTRS will develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs that promote independence, community integration, social engagement, wellness, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and passionate about helping individuals achieve meaningful participation in their communities.

This position is expected to grow as Bridge Rehabilitation Center expands its recreational therapy services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct recreational therapy assessments and establish individualized treatment goals.
• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation interventions based on client needs and physician orders.
• Facilitate community integration, leisure participation, wellness activities, and therapeutic outings.
• Coordinate recreational opportunities that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
• Monitor client progress and modify interventions as appropriate.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with case managers, families, caregivers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in treatment planning and care coordination activities.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards of practice.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field.
• Current Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a growing caseload.

Preferred

• Experience working with individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) .
• Experience working with individuals with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) .
• Experience in rehabilitation, community reintegration, adaptive recreation, or neurological populations.
• Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Work Schedule

• Part-time position.
• Clients are typically seen 1-2 times per week , based on physician orders and client needs.
• Individual sessions generally range from 1-3 hours .
• Schedule may vary based on client availability and assigned caseload.
• Opportunity for additional hours as the program expands.

Additional Information

• Client transportation is not required. Bridge Rehabilitation Center utilizes Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services for client transportation.
• Recreational therapy services focus on therapeutic interventions, community engagement, skill development, and quality-of-life enhancement.
