Full-time Utility Steward/DishwasherMeriwether Godsey is looking for a full-time utility steward/dishwasher at a private school located in the heart of Norfolk, VA.What you will do:Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize itemsNote and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediatelyTransport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areasClean cafeteria and serving areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruptionSet up and use a compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pansMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trashAssist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safetyPerform all duties by food safety and sanitation best practicesOther duties, as assignedWhat you need:Ability to measure products and convert units of measureAwareness of commercial kitchen equipment and how to perform routine maintenance and cleaningReliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environmentGood communication skills and a great attitudeWhat you will get:Competitive pay, uniforms, meals, training, mentorship, and benefits such as health, vision, dental, and more!Meriwether Godsey offers significant opportunities for growth and career advancement.
