Shifts: Nights M-Thu 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM (4 days - 10 hours)

Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Surgery

• Obtain and record initial assessments; establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention
• Develop and implement measurable, individualized plans of care for patients
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes
• Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Evaluate the plan of care and perform various Point of Care testing procedures

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Surgery

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• BLS Certification from AHA required
• ACLS Certification from AHA required
• Experience level as required for clinical ladder considerations
