Cybersecurity Engineer II - Product Cyber Security (Onsite)

Cybersecurity Engineer II – Product Position located in Binghamton, NY. Requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret‑level security clearance issued by the U.S. Government prior to start date. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements. Architect, deploy, and optimize enterprise network solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and security. Configure, build, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux operating system environments in accordance with security and operational best practices. Support the Government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in RMF accreditation efforts, including documentation development, control implementation, assessment coordination, and continuous monitoring activities. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure optimal network performance, segmentation, and security posture. Validate and verify hardware and software functionality through testing, diagnostics, and performance evaluation. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational workflows. Qualifications Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field. Must have Linux or Windows experience, including Active Directory, VMware, backup and recovery skills. Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. Preferred: DoDD 8140 / 8570 certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE) and an operating system certification. Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies. Experience using VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESX, or other virtualization methods. Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development. Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange scripting. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
