About the Position

Job Title: MICU RN Nights Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2+ years of Adult ICU experience required, with 2+ years of continuous work experience in one location, preferably a MICU. License: Active Massachusetts RN License Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to read telemetry strips - Experience in a Medical/Surgical ICU - Floating to Medical/Surgical Units required Description: This position is for a MICU Registered Nurse working nights. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU experience. The nurse will care for a wide range of adult patients with diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day. The unit has a bed count of 20 for adult patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas. Telemetry competency is required for this role.
