Physical Therapist

Job GoalTo work with an individual to help them achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of purposeful activity or interventions designed to achieve functional outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability and which develop, improve, sustain or restore the highest possible level of independence.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide treatment to individuals with developmental delays and/or orthopedic impairments, including evaluation, planning, treatment, documentation, and professional communication. Select, administer, and interpret a variety of screening instruments and standardized measurement tools. Measure and document progress resulting from the designed physical therapy interventions. Provide direct and indirect services using evidence based strategies. Schedules individuals to achieve and maintain a level of productivity which meets or exceeds the standard established for the center while ensuring delivery of quality care. Provide individual and/or group services to best meet the individual's need. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to determine the most appropriate treatment plan including strengths and needs. Communicate and consult with families and team members on implementation of programs and accommodations. Work with others to improve the effectiveness of service delivery. Able to easily adapt to individual's needs and/or schedule. Select, modify, and use specialized equipment designed to help treat and/or accommodate conditions that hinder mobility. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs. Maintain professional license/registration through steady pursuit and participation in appropriate continuing education and professional development opportunities to satisfy requirements for licensure/registration renewal. Follow state and/or national board regulations. Oversee assistants and/or fieldwork students as warranted. Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the direct supervisor and/or executive director.Other Skills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate information to students, parents, colleagues and 3rd parties effectively, and to timely monitor and report on developments. Exercises sound judgment and exhibits strong decision-making and problem solving skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, clients and the public. Displays exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Results-oriented and self-starter who is able to effectively work within deadlines.Minimum QualificationsGraduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Experience working with individuals with developmental delays. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance. Act 34 State Criminal History Clearance. Act 114 FBI Clearance. Mandated Reporter Training. State License of Practice and/or Certification. CPR/First Aid. TB/Physical.
