Leading Bryan County area manufacturing facility is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer You will prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with our Production Team to understand production challenges and design strategies to solve them
- Make assembly models, drawings, 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks
- Make and revise Machine Manual and Technical Specs
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials
- Write non-conformity reports stating problems that may arise in the field or in production
- Test and modify design solutions until product is ready for approval and installation in the manufacturing environment
- Occasionally travel to client site to problem solve design challenges in the field
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Mechanical Design
- Familiarity with CAD or other related software (SolidWorks)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes required such as Metal Cutting, Bending, Welding and Machining
- Knowledge of materials for mechanical design such as pins, bushings, bearings, gears, cables, cylinders and springs
- Basic knowledge of strength of materials required
