Jump-start your career as a(an) Ultrasound Tech PRN today with Methodist Hospital Hill Country.Job Summary and QualificationsGeneral Statement of Duties:The Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) performs diagnostic procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the physician. The sonographer will demonstrate and maintain technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures on the population(s) served by the department and may include abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics (where applicable) and invasive exams. In addition, the sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment. He/she participates in the quality control of the ultrasound department.Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:1. Education: ONE of the following:A. Successful completion of training program in either:UltrasonographyRadiologic TechnologyVascular TechnologyB. Associates of Science or higher degree2. Experience: None required3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).4.
