Pre-Press Specialist

Position Overview PrePress Technician – Oconomowoc, WI. Works with MAC/PC to modify and produce art and copy prints for custom label production in a fast‑paced digital printing environment. Collaborates with Graphics, Sales, R&D, Production and Customer Service. Responsibilities Work with electronic, customer‑supplied art files to make color, text and image corrections, ensuring proper format, appearance and layout of final production files. Convert files from customer‑provided formats to the current software required by the CL&D standard operating procedures. Follow Prepress Planner instructions and CL&D SOPs for template layout, typesetting, copy changes, digital image corrections, color separation, and file preparation for digital printing. Create electronic and printed proofs per customer demand. Coordinate with Press operator and Customer Service to sign off files for printing. Prepare layout prints for internal and external customers, supervisors or other colleagues as requested. Verify quality of layout prints, proofs and files by checking for content accuracy and adherence to prepress standards. Represent the company professionally at all times and maintain a clean, orderly work area daily. Qualifications and Abilities Associates Degree in a related field or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, database software, design software and graphics MAC software. Proficient in industry‑standard applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat. Experience working in both Macintosh and Windows client/server operating systems. Experience with Esko Workflow Management is a plus. Ability to read and interpret design documents, templates, communications and procedure manuals. Strong oral and written communication, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to multitask and prioritize multiple objectives with high detail orientation. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
