Cloud Engineer

Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; a masters degree is preferred.
• We seek approximately 2–5 years of software development experience and proficiency in one or more relevant languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Experience with Java and JavaScript is also specified.
• We require experience developing or consuming REST APIs, including building endpoints and using methods such as GET and POST, and working with JSON and other structured data formats.
• We expect an understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, common application architecture patterns, and the software development lifecycle from requirements and design through maintenance.
• We require experience with relational databases, SQL queries for retrieving, inserting, updating, and summarizing data, and basic data modeling.
• We seek experience with Git-based source control and GitHub, including branching, commits, pull requests, and peer code reviews, as well as familiarity with automated unit and integration testing.
• We require a basic understanding of cloud computing, containerization, and CI/CD practices, plus the ability to diagnose software issues using logs and debugging tools.
• We seek experience or working knowledge of AWS services such as S3, EC2, or RDS, and Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, or BigQuery.
• We require experience with Kubernetes and Docker, and experience building or supporting Java applications or REST services using Spring Boot.
• We seek experience using Apigee to publish and manage APIs, configure API proxies and authentication, apply policies, and monitor API traffic.
• We expect experience working in an Agile software development environment and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across product, architecture, engineering, data, testing, and operations teams.
• We prefer knowledge of agentic AI workflows, data pipeline development and processing, AI evaluation strategies such as RAGAS, RAG, vectorization, and LLM orchestration.
• We value experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Google Kubernetes Engine, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, or Cloud SQL; and with Terraform or similar cloud-native technologies.
• We prefer frontend development experience with React and TypeScript, along with familiarity with event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and data pipelines.
• We value experience implementing observability with logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerting, and familiarity with OpenTelemetry or comparable tools and standards.
• We prefer familiarity with API specifications and tools such as OpenAPI or Swagger; authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and secure coding; and integrating AI or machine-learning services through APIs.
• We value familiarity with prompt management, AI response validation, confidence scoring, human-feedback capture, and Agile or Scrum delivery models.

• We will design, develop, test, and maintain cloud platform components, with technical guidance from senior engineers.
• We will build and integrate REST APIs, backend services, data-processing functions, and event-driven workflows, and connect enterprise data sources.
• We will support data ingestion, normalization, validation, storage, and retrieval.
• We will contribute to web interfaces and dashboards that display operational, AI-performance, and platform-health information.
• We will implement logging, metrics, distributed tracing, error handling, and health checks for platform services.
• We will write unit, integration, API, and automated regression tests; participate in code reviews; and address feedback on maintainability, performance, security, and coding standards.
• We will support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, configuration management, and cloud environment troubleshooting.
• We will assist with integrating AI services through APIs and standardized interface contracts.
• We will implement role-based access controls and follow security, privacy, data-retention, and auditability requirements.
• We will create and maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, deployment instructions, support procedures, and design notes.
• We will participate in backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• We will investigate defects and operational issues using logs, metrics, traces, and other platform evidence.
• We will identify technical risks, dependencies, and blockers and communicate them promptly to the delivery team.
