RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - Nights

Position Overview

• Sign-on Bonus: $6,000
• Department: Respiratory Therapy
• Schedule: Full-time Nights
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

• The Respiratory Therapy team supports hospital-wide patient care, managing conditions like asthma and respiratory distress. This team plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes.

• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
