LEAD Marine is looking for a driven, highly organized recruiter to join our Hampton Roads team. This is an in-office, high-volume recruiting position focused primarily on skilled trades supporting the shipbuilding, ship repair and marine industries.

We are looking for someone who likes to recruit — someone who enjoys talking with candidates, building relationships, working a database, filling jobs and seeing the results of their work.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of high-volume staffing or recruiting experience, preferably recruiting skilled trades within the shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, industrial or construction industries.

This is not an HR or corporate recruiting position. It is a fast-paced staffing environment where urgency, activity, follow-up and attention to detail matter.

What You’ll Do

• Recruit skilled tradespeople for shipbuilding, ship repair and marine positions

• Source candidates through our ATS/database, job boards, referrals, social media and direct outreach

• Make a high volume of outbound calls and texts to prospective candidates

• Screen candidates for experience, skills, certifications, availability and job requirements

• Recruit positions including welders, shipfitters, pipefitters, pipe welders, marine electricians, machinists, riggers, painters/blasters and other skilled trades

• Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates for current and upcoming positions

• Submit qualified candidates quickly and accurately

• Coordinate interviews, onboarding, start dates and candidate follow-up

• Maintain complete and accurate candidate information, notes, skills and activity within our ATS

• Develop relationships with candidates that generate repeat placements and referrals

• Work closely with sales, operations and other recruiters to meet customer staffing needs

What We’re Looking For

• 2–5 years of high-volume recruiting or staffing experience preferred

• Shipbuilding, ship repair or marine recruiting experience strongly preferred

• Skilled trades, industrial or construction staffing experience will also be considered

• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency

• Excellent attention to detail

• Comfortable making a high volume of outbound candidate calls and texts

• Ability to manage multiple open positions and candidate pipelines simultaneously

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Comfortable working toward measurable recruiting goals

• Experience working within an ATS and maintaining accurate candidate records

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
