Facilities TechnicianABM is seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operation of a commercial facility in Austin, Texas. The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, responding to work orders, assisting with facility improvements, and helping ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for employees and visitors.This role is ideal for someone with hands-on maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working in a dynamic facility environment.Pay: $27The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. For information about ABM's benefits, visit Annual Benefits-FrontlineResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance:Conduct routine inspections of facility systems, equipment, and common areas.Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on building systems and components.Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, doors, fixtures, and other facility assets.Assist with office furniture moves, setups, and equipment installations.Perform painting touch-ups and other light maintenance duties as needed.Work Order Management:Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls.Prioritize and complete assigned work orders while maintaining accurate records of completed work.Communicate project progress and maintenance updates to facility leadership.Escalate unresolved issues or specialized repair needs as appropriate.Safety & Compliance:Follow all company safety policies and procedures.Conduct routine safety inspections and report hazards or compliance concerns.Maintain a safe work environment and support regulatory compliance efforts.Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with applicable safety standards.Inventory & Equipment Management:Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.Assist with ordering materials and supplies necessary to support facility operations.Ensure tools and equipment remain in safe, working condition.Vendor & Project Support:Collaborate with facility management, contractors, vendors, and service providers.Assist with facility improvement projects, renovations, and construction-related activities.Provide support for special projects and facility events as assigned.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Previous facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred.Working knowledge of:HVAC systemsElectrical systemsPlumbing systemsGeneral building repairsPainting and touch-up repairsPreventative maintenance practicesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Physical RequirementsAbility to frequently walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed.Ability to safely use hand and power tools.ABM (NYSE: ABM) is one of the world's largest providers of integrated facility, engineering, and infrastructure solutions.
