Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer Location: Ira Township, MI (Hybrid) Contract: 12months Schedule: 40 Hours Pay: $48/hr - $50/hr (DOE) Qualifications Experience in the design, construction, or operation of natural gas compressor station equipment Experience in reviewing designs to assure compliance with engineering design, applicable codes, constructability, and industry standards. CFR 49 Part 192 Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline (Minimum Federal Safety Standards), and/or Michigan Gas Safety Standards Guide (MGSS), Knowledge of ASME Codes & Standards e.g., ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5/16.47, ASME BPVC, etc. API Specifications & Standards e.g., API 5L, API 6D, API 1104, etc. Experience in: Procurement of engineered material, equipment and professional services. Coordinating/developing contract documents (RFPs), engineering drawings/technical specifications for both consulting and construction Responsibilities This role supports modifications to existing facilities and new construction projects at our natural gas compressor stations. Project Engineers work in team settings in the role of lead and/or support engineer. Project Engineering works closely with project managers, engineers of other disciplines, system engineers, environmental, operations and maintenance personnel, outage managers, construction managers, external engineers of record (Architectural & Engineering firms), construction contractors, and vendor representatives to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget. This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of engineering on projects to ensure they meet the owner's objectives in terms of safety, regulatory compliance, scope, quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule adherence. This role requires a strong understanding of natural gas and balance of plant systems, application of engineering principles, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The candidate must independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering theory, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. The Engineer will be required to travel to the compressor stations on average 3 days per week and as much as 5 days per week. #J-18808-Ljbffr Planet Group
